{"id":4323,"date":"2021-07-16T17:05:45","date_gmt":"2021-07-16T21:05:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/festivaldelacurd.ca\/?p=4323"},"modified":"2021-07-16T17:05:47","modified_gmt":"2021-07-16T21:05:47","slug":"hey-cow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/festivaldelacurd.ca\/en\/hey-cow\/","title":{"rendered":"Hey Cow!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h4>2nd edition of the project presented by the Curd Festival powered by ICI Ottawa-Gatineau<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align:right\"><a><strong>NEWS RELEASE<\/strong><\/a><br> For immediate release <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ST-ALBERT \u2013 Thursday, July 15, 2021<\/strong> \u2013 For a second year in a row, the Curd Festival is\nadding a dash of colour to the village of St-Albert and its surroundings with\nPhase 2 of their \u201cHey Cow, I see you now!\u201d project. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even though the sanitary restrictions associated with\nthe pandemic are slowly starting to ease, the <strong>Curd\nFestival<\/strong> has decided to once again\ncancel its annual late summer gathering. Instead, given the tremendous success\nof last year\u2019s <strong><em>Hey Cow, I\nsee you now!<\/em><\/strong> Project,\nthe organizers decided to add a few more colourful cows to the herd along the\ncircuit winding through St-Albert and its surroundings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>TWO DAYS OF OPEN\nHOUSES <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There will be two open house days: <strong>Saturday,\nJuly 17, 2021<\/strong>, and <strong>Sunday, August 1, 2021<\/strong> between 11 am and 3pm,\nfeaturing artists at work on their cows on site, ready to answer questions from\nonlookers. Three locations in the Prescott &amp; Russel area will offer open\nhouse activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>: the open houses will be at the St-Albert\nCheese Coop, the Tuque de Broue Brewery and artist Pierre Caron\u2019s workshop at 816 Burelle Road\nin St-Albert. <br>\n<br>\n<\/li><li>: additional\nartists will be on hand at the St-Albert Cheese Coop and the Tuque de Broue Brewery,\nas well as at the workshop of a new artist, to be unveiled on the <strong>Curd\nFestival <\/strong>social media sites in the next few weeks. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>DISPLAYING THE NEW HERD &#8211; August 2021<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If\nsanitary measures allow, and before the new cows are unveiled along the current\ncircuit, the organizers hope to display the herd on the <strong>Curd Festival<\/strong> site in late August. They will then be joined by\nthe latest additions. Local residents and visitors will get to check out the\ncows as they tour the area by car or on bicycles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u201c<\/strong>Our\nteam is absolutely delighted to once again get to work on this community\nproject that not only brightens up the landscape but also showcases\nFranco-Ontarian visual artists from this vast and beautiful community,\u201d noted\nthe project\u2019s Executive Director, Michel-Olivier Matte. \u201cThe enthusiasm shown by the local artists,\nartisans and merchants has made all the difference, and their energy is\nspreading throughout the region,\u201d he added. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>WINGS FOR THE HEY COW PROJECT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ICI OTTAWA-GATINEAU<\/strong> has decided to join this year\u2019s <strong>Curd\nFestival<\/strong> to give the Hey\nCow circuit a boost by highlighting the works of local artists. The broadcaster\nwill add a series of exciting and entertaining initiatives to its social media\nthroughout the month of August to help promote the circuit. The public will be\ninvited to vote for the virtual cow that will grace the advertising campaign promoting\nthe circuit and the partnership on the broadcaster\u2019s platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>UPDATE ON THE CIRCUIT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 30-km circuit runs by businesses, farms and residences\nbetween Embrun and Casselman, and already features some 20 cows, mostly in\nSt-Albert and its immediate vicinity. The new herd will join the circuit in\nlate August, and the 2021 circuit will be unveiled shortly after school resumes.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"about:blank\">festivaldelacurd.ca<\/a> site has a photo gallery of all of the cows and the\nlist of artists who contributed to the project. There is also an interactive\nmap of the route that people can check for the cows\u2019 locations, as well as a Google\nMaps route they can use with GPS. The open house locations are also identified.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The public is invited to provide their feedback on\ntheir \u201cHey Cow, I see you now!\u201d experience on social media using the <strong>#OhlaVache<\/strong> hashtag with their Facebook,\nInstagram or Twitter posts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align:center\">&#8211; 30 \u2013<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The \u201cHey Cow, I see\nyou now!\u201d project is an initiative presented by the St-Albert Curd Festival and\ndisseminated by ICI Ottawa-Gatineau.
